Mayor Michael A. Nutter has established the Richardson Dilworth Award for Distinguished Public Service in Philadelphia to recognize the contributions of an outstanding public employee whose work performance embodies excellence in public service.

Eligibility:

- The candidate must be a full-time employee of the City of Philadelphia government serving under the Mayor who is not a cabinet-level appointee or department commissioner.

- The employee must have at least three years of continuous employment with the City of Philadelphia, be an employee in good standing with a good attendance record, positive performance evaluations from supervisors, and no disciplinary violations in the last three years.

- Volunteers, temporary and contract workers, and Philadelphia School District staff working in City offices are not eligible to participate.

Award:

- The winner of the award will receive a $5,000 cash prize, four free tickets to the Mayor's box for the event of their choice, and their name will be memorialized on a plaque in City Hall.

- The winner, their family, and their nominators will also be invited to an honorary luncheon in recognition of their achievement.


Please note nomination "campaigns" are prohibited and will render the nominee ineligible.
