Performance development reviews are intended to be a participative discussion between the employee and the manager/team leader as coach, with emphasis on both your performance and development. Your rights and responsibilities in the performance development review: - To be an equal in discussions; - To expect honesty and a reasonable time allocation from your manager; - To have your manager come prepared to discussions. It is in turn, your responsiblity to be prepared yourself. If either person is not prepared, the other person may request to reschedule the discussion; - To recieve ongoing feedback and coaching to help you improve your performance. If this is not occuring, ask for it; - To be open and honest with your manager, raising any concerns you may have; - To work towards agreement; - To recognise that performance agreements change over time and to be prepared to be flexible in discussion throughout the year.
