Please read the following description of a new product concept called Instant Elegance.
Instant Elegance is a turnkey decorating package which includes one or more semi-custom coordinated window treatments, decorative pillows, and other soft furnishings along with paint color and slipcover recommendations (e.g., two 84" long drapery panels, two large decorator pillows, and a 36" table overlay in your choice of decorator fabrics and drapery/valance styles (from predefined lists), plus recommendations for complementary paint colors [option 1], [option2], and [option 3] - all for $[a certain preset dollar value]). Instant Elegance allows you to create "a new room in an hour" using your existing furnishings and window hardware.
Instant Elegance is targeted to buyers who want more quality and selection than is available at stores like Linens 'n Things, but who can't afford the time and expense of traditional custom work (home visit and consultation, measuring, professional installation - finished window treatments alone may cost thousands of dollars). Instant Elegance should also appeal to buyers who want a coordinated look, but who do not want to deal with a decorator. Instant Elegance will be offered primarily via the internet.
The Instant Elegance customer may choose from a predefined set of fabric color and texture palettes (e.g., a linen print fabric which coordinates with a linen stripe fabric and a nubby solid) and a predefined set of drapery/valance styles. A variety of trims (cording, tassels,...) may be added to each item at additional cost. The customer will be able to preview their custom item online in their choice of fabric(s) and trim.
The customer may add the following decorating options, at an additional fixed cost:
1. recommendation, purchase, and delivery of coordinating accessories (sofa throw, candlesticks, silk flowers, etc.) and
2. online or in-home room redesign (redecorating the room using the customer's own furnishings - enhancing the floor plan, "shopping" the home for coordinating furniture/accessories, rehanging pictures, and so forth). |
