The Rhode Island Office of Health and Human Services (OHHS) is organizing a day-long summit for May 6,2005, focusing on the new Medicare Part D drug benefit. The goal of the summit is to share information about the complex federal rules and requirements for Part D, to discuss any initiatives in development or actions underway in Rhode Island to prepare for implementation early next year and to develop a coordinated, statewide strategy to assist eligible consumers in making the transition to the new benefit.



To ensure that our time during the summit is used in the most effective manner possible, we are asking that you, and all invited participants, complete the on-line survey form requesting detailed information about any planned or on-going efforts related in any way to the transition to Part D. All of your individual answers will be kept confidential. We will compile the responses we receive and distribute them to participants prior to the summit. Hopefully, this information will provide us with a survey of the scope of the activities underway and, thus, a starting point for our discussion on areas where there is either a need or opportunity for interagency or public-private partnerships, collaboration and/or statewide coordination.
