We are asking respondents for their opinions on the purpose of bail and the factors they believe are most important to determine the most appropriate type of pretrial release or detention. Survey results will be presented at the upcoming Ohio Judicial College Training, "Two's Company, 18,412's a Crowd: Pretrial Models to Help" on April 7, 2005.

Reasonably assure the defendant's appearance in court.
Reasonably prevent the defendant from unlawfully interfering with the judicial process.
