The purpose of this research is to study the effects of writing by hand. Although the results of this study will not benefit you in any direct way, the study will contribute to our knowledge of the ability to switch task and its effects. This may ultimately help us to develop better understanding of alternating from one task to another.
If you agree to participate in this study, your responses will be used for the purposes of research only. All responses will be kept confidential and anonymous. No identifiers will be used at any time. Participation is voluntary. You may stop participating at any time without any penalty. You may skip any part of this study without penalty.
The task sheet with two activities should take on average 1 to 2 minutes to complete. We will ask you to switch back and forth in a timed dual task situation with letters and numbers. There are no right or wrong answers. Please complete the task in a timely and efficient manner. Give each a moment’s thought, and then respond in reference to the instructions given for the task.
When you have completed the task or exercise place the sheet only in the yellow envelope provided and seal it. Give the sealed envelope with the sheet in it to the researcher when you have completed the task. Completion and return of the sheet indicates consent to participate in the study. If you do not wish to take part in the study, do not complete or return the exercise.
It is unlikely that any risk or discomfort is associated with this research. However, if any of the questions cause discomfort or anxiety, or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact the study advisor at:
