By continuing with the survey, I give my consent to participate in an experiment being conducted by Holy Cross Research Method students: Caitlin Donovan, Tony Quesada, Edel Quinn, and Aurora Scozzafava.

The purpose of this study is to explore teachers’ perspectives on student intelligence. This study will consist of two surveys: one measuring the perspectives of intelligence and one measuring individual differences in personal style. The experiment should require no more than ten minutes to complete.

I understand that this study will be conducted in a manner which will maintain my confidentiality throughout the entire experimental process. I understand that I have the right to withdraw from the study at any moment and for any reason. I understand that I will not be compensated for participation.

Following the study, I will receive a copy of the study’s results upon request and will have the opportunity to ask any questions that may arise.

Instructions: Read each pair of sentences below. Think about each one carefully because they may sound a lot alike. Decide which one you agree with most. Then indicate either A or B to show which sentence you agree with most.

Each pair describes contradictory characteristics - that is, you cannot be both at the same time, such as very artistic and not at all artistic.
The letters form a scale between the two extremes. You are to chose a letter which describes where you fall on the scale. For example, if you think you have no artistic ability, you would choose A.
