1. In-School Suspension (ISS) is an effective form of school discipline.
2. Students who consistently do not bring materials to class should receive ISS days.
3. Students who engage in classroom disruptions (throwing things, excessive talking, off-task behaviors) should receive ISS days.
4. Students who engage in bullying, fighting, aggressive behavior, and/or harassment should receive ISS days.
5. Students who bring weapons to school should receive ISS days.
6. There should be a cap on the number of instructional hours students may miss per year due to time in ISS.
7. There are alternative methods to ISS for addressing discipline or behavior problems.
