During the Vietnam war, the American military employed a number of chemical companies to develop biological weapons, one of which was known as Agent Orange-. Millions of people, including Vietnamese citizens, US soldiers, and US-alliance veterans were affected. Although the war ended 30 years ago, those people and their families are still suffering. Apart from the United States, Australia is the only other country said to have the most veterans exposed to Agent Orange. Just as with the Vietnamese, many of the Australian veterans’ illnesses and abnormalities in their offspring are said to be directly linked to Agent Orange. Recently, the Vietnamese Agent Orange victims have filed a lawsuit against the involved US chemical companies for manufacturing Agent Orange in the Vietnam War. The law suit has attracted a great deal of attention from the Vietnamese public and media.
This survey is aimed at finding out the Australian opinion on the lawsuit and to what extent the Australia supports this effort for Vietnamese civillian Agent Orange victims. It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete the questionnaire.
