Below are two models of marriage. Please read each short paragraph, answer a few final questions, and than we're done. Thank you again for your participation.
MODEL #1:
MODEL #1 is one in which marriage is a hierarchical institution in which the husband is the leader, and the wife should submit to the authority of her husband. If there is a disagreement, the husband should have the last say, and the wife should submit to his decision. The husband is responsible to lead the family spiritually. The husband carries the primary responsibility for providing for the family financially, and the wife's primary responsibility is to care for the home and the members of the family.
MODEL #2
Model #2 is one in which there is no hierarchy of authority or responsibility. The husband and wife have equal say in decision making, and if there is disagreement, a decision should not be made. Neither husband or wife should necessarily carry primary responsibility for the financial provision of the family. The division of labor in the home and outside of the home is decided jointly, with no clear-cut mandates. Neither husband or wife should necessarily be responsible to lead spiritually.

* If you were taught that Model #1 was correct, who taught you that Model #1 was correct? Please check if you were not taught that Model #1 was correct. You may check more than one answer.
