In August 2019, the city witnessed the convergence of some of the brightest minds in technology for the inaugural edition of Techathon by QuestionPro.
This event at the QuestionPro offices was more than just a gathering—it celebrated innovation, creativity, and coding prowess. With the fun slogan “Talk is cheap, show me the code,” Techathon set the stage for an exhilarating competition that highlighted every participant’s skills and ingenuity.
Let the competition begin!
The day began with an introduction and a hearty breakfast from 8 to 9 AM, setting a welcoming tone for the exciting activities ahead. The core of the event was a hackathon designed to challenge each team’s creativity, cleverness, and technical ability. In this edition, participants were tasked with building bots to play the board game SEQUENCE, culminating in an epic “Battle of the Bots” where these creations faced off against each other.
The agenda was packed with action and anticipation:
- 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Introduction and breakfast
- 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Hackathon: Go wild!
- 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch and surprises
- 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Hackathon: Second round!
- 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Presentation and competition
- 9:00 PM: Award ceremony, dinner, and drinks!
Participants threw themselves into the challenge, their minds abuzz with ideas and strategies. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as teams collaborated, coded, and debugged, each aiming to create the most formidable bot. The competition was fierce but also friendly, fostering a sense of community and mutual respect among all involved.
As the day progressed, the energy never waned. After a well-deserved lunch break, the second hacking round began, pushing participants to refine their bots and prepare for the final showdown. By the evening, the teams were ready to present their creations. The battle was intense, with bots engaging in strategic gameplay showcasing their creators’ impressive technical skills.
The highlight of the event was the award ceremony. The winning team, led by Mahesh AV from the DevOps team at QuestionPro, was announced between cheers and applause. Their exceptional bot performance earned them the top prize of Apple AirPods for each team member.
