GCU Club Sports Leadership 201, Session 2
You're a leader. Now what?

Contact Information
“I must follow the people. Am I not their leader?” -Benjamin Disraeli (twice the Prime Minister of England)

Scripture: Ephesians 4:1 - I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called.

Scenario:
Imagine that you have just been hired to be the General Manager of a large athletic club.

This is one of those really nice ones, where the lockers are wood, the bathrooms are clean, and the cars in the parking lot reflect a wealthy membership.

You were hired by the owners because of your work in another city, but you’ve only been in this club after hours with an owner.

You don’t know any of the staff, and they don’t know you. But they know you’re coming, and the six managers (tennis pro, swim coach, personal training manager, chef, sports courts manager, operations manager) who will report to you directly are waiting in a conference room inside the club.

You find a parking spot, you find the conference room, and you walk in.

What do you say?
What led you to choose that answer? What are the pros and cons of each answer?
