Validation for date and calendar questions

Need to make sure your users pick a date within a specific range? QuestionPro allows you to to apply additional validation to date and calendar questions to ensure users select dates within a date range of your choosing.

• Go to: Survey » Edit » Workspace. Click on the Validation link on the date and calendar question


• In the pop-up, select Forced Response and select the validation criteria from the list and click on the Apply button.

• Date greater than: Requires respondents to select any date after the specified date.
• Date greater than or equals:Requires respondents to select the specified date or any later date.


• Date less than: Requires respondents to select any date before the specified date.
• Date less than or equals: Requires respondents to select the specified date or any previous date.


• Date between: Requires respondents to select any date between a specified range.


• Date within: Requires respondents to select any date before or after the specified date. Users get to choose how many days before and after the specified date are eligible 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 1 month or a custom date.
• For example, if you select the 1 day option respondents will be required to select dates within 1 day (before, during or after) of the selected date, therefore if you set January 15th, 2020 as your baseline date, respondents will be required to select within January 14th, January 15th or January 16th, 2020.


• After setting up the validation, whenever respondents fail to comply with the criteria a message will be displayed prompting them to do so.
