SSO with UPN vs. Email Address

we have successfully set up SSO, and authentication is working in principle. However, we are facing an issue: users do not appear in the QuestionPro portal unless we have manually created them beforehand using their email addresses.

From our observation, QuestionPro seems to assume that the login name (UPN) and the email address are identical. In our environment, however, the User Principal Name (UPN) differs from the email address.

Could you please clarify:

Does QuestionPro rely on the email attribute or on the UPN for user provisioning through SSO?

Is there a way to configure the SAML assertion so that QuestionPro uses a different attribute (e.g., map UPN to email)?

If not, what would be the recommended workaround for environments where UPN and email are not the same?
